MTBBASE on github

I have put all MTBBASE code and the DB on github, so you can not only benefit from the code but also contact me with issues about the database, just like you would do with any other piece of open source software. You can also download the annotations from there. Isn't github awesome?

MTB-GOA version 17

Nine missing papers and a few corrections in this quick release. It looks we were wrong with the prognosis all automatically findable cases of missing process annotations are done, so expect some more of these. Fortunately on the other hand, the list of missing papers shrinks fast, and up to 2009 there seem to remain less than ten missing papers for annotation. Cheers!

MTB-GOA version 16

As promised, this update contains the other half of the "processes for every activity" fix. It also has a few other fixes, additions and missing papers, so it's worth updating otherwise as well. This is probably the last big semiautomatic fix, and maybe the last big error fix for this database. From now on fixes will likely be done by paper review, which is a slow process. The other fixes to be done are frequent specialization of annotations, esp. whenever the GO hierarchy changes. This also means we now have time to expand the database scope---about which details in a later post!

MTB-GOA version 15

Sorry for not announcing version 14 with some missing papers in the meantime. Anyway, 15 brings not only process annotations for over 50 proteins that had none, but also several error corrections of early work. Expect more in both lines next time.

Major MTB-GOA update 2011

It's done! A hundred more papers from 2009 are curated in the new MTB-GOA version, for the major update of 2011. And not only that, but also dozens of annotation fixes due to obsoletion of some GO entries, and more. So, grab it, it doesn't get hotter.

MTB-GOA version 12

A further three missing papers, several newer papers, and lots of process annotations are in this new release, which is the next-to-last before this year's major update. I am using UniPathway to stay on top of pathways and I am more than half through it with process annotations. You can see it is a nice site which depends on electronic annotations, so it is only as good as those.

MTB-GOA version 11

thanks to an excellent data mining program, this version brings over a dozen missing papers and overall tries to fill all gaps in the annotation of Mtb amino acid metabolism, completing the process annotations as well. We expect to continue in this way with further parts of the metabolism. Have fun,

MTB-GOA version 10

A new version without fixes, but with some old and some new papers that were missing. Don't despair, more fixes are to come, like specializations of annotation and missing process info. Until then, enjoy!

MTB-GOA version 9

This quick release one week after the previous fixes a script bug that resulted in KatG, RpoB, and Tra9 annotations getting an obsolete UniProt: ID. One other correction is included.

MTB-GOA version 8

Work on the reactome M.tb infection pathway has lead to more corrections of annotations. Hot spot this time is NO detox and redox homeostasis, where also some papers were found that were missed. Enjoy!
